New Excursion

This Excursion is fully booked. Please telephone our office to be placed on a waiting list. This excursion has been planned to show you some beautiful coastline, towns and villages.....and we shall not even be leaving our own county of Sussex! First stop will be in ARUNDEL where you will have time for coffee, a stroll by the River, or a wander through the streets of this pretty old town. Our morning drive then takes us through Bognor, Littlehampton, Worthing and Brighton, following as close as possible to the sea. A lunch break will be made in ROTTINGDEAN. The old village runs inland, along a downland valley. Its narrow main street of old flint-built houses opens out onto an attractive green beside a large village pond. In the later years of the 19th century Rottingdean had famous artistic and literary associations. Rudyard Kipling lived here and was inspired by the Downs to write his poem Sussex. Kipling relics are on view at Rottingdean's small museum. After lunch we take a slow drive through Newhaven and Seaford before crossing the River Cuckmere and on to Birling Gap and Beachy Head. This beautiful headland has the tallest cliffs on the south coast, rising to a height of 534 ft. Our day is rounded off with a visit to one of our favourite restaurants, SILLETTS COTTAGE, All seats £25.95
