This Excursion is no longer available The Royal Opera House is home to the Royal Ballet, the Royal Opera and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House - three of the most highly acclaimed companies in the world. Situated in London's Covent Garden this iconic building covers an area of 2.5 acres and our excursion today will give you an intriguing insight into the world behind the stage. The tour provides an exciting overview of this stunning building including the backstage area, the historic Front of House and the elegant Paul Hamlyn Hall. You will learn about the colourful history of the theatre, the state-of-the art technology installed during the major re-development between 1997 and 1999 and take a look at aspects of current opera and ballet productions. There will be free time in Covent Garden before the tour.
