A Scilly Adventure

When you arrive in the Scillies it feels like you have journeyed back in time. With azure seas, subtropical gardens and beaches of white glistening sand, these beautiful and peaceful islands lie just 28 miles off the coast of Cornwall. The five inhabited islands of St.Mary’s, Bryher, Tresco, St.Agnes and St.Martin’s, are set amongst hundreds of smaller islands, each one distinct with a unique mix of plants and wildlife. We are pleased to be returning to the Bell Rock Hotel, where we are assured of a warm welcome, comfortable accommodation and good food and service. Whilst on Scilly you can opt to ‘do your own thing’ or join the excursions arranged by the Tour Manager.

Day 1 - Wednesday

Join your driver, courier and fellow passengers for the journey to Cornwall. We will stay at the comfortable Queens Hotel in Penzance with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Day 2 - Thursday

A short hop on the coach takes us to the Scillonian, Scilly's faithful passenger ship. The crossing takes around three hours, cruising along the rocky Cornish coast and past Land's End. Reaching St.Mary's at lunchtime, luggage will be transferred to the Hotel whilst you explore the Island's 'capital' of Hugh Town. This evening join your Roadmark Tour Manager for a welcome drink before dinner.

Day 3 - 6

During your stay on Scilly you will have ample time to explore the natural beauty of the Islands. Scilly is a walkers' and bird watchers' paradise and you will be table to book boat trips to the 'off islands' to see birds, seals and the remote Bishop's Rock Lighthouse. Your Roadmark Tour Manager will be on hand to offer advice, and will arrange optional excursions, including one to Tresco to visit the world-famous subtropical gardens established by Augustus Smith in the 19th century.

Day 7 - Tuesday

Spend today in Hugh Town and, perhaps, enjoy a farewell lunch at Juliet's Garden overlooking the harbour. You might want to buy some scented narcissi bulbs to take home. We take the afternoon boat back to Penzance and stay overnight at the new Premier Inn or another nearby hotel. Dinner is not included this evening.

Day 8 - Wednesday

After breakfast we board the coach and drive home to Sussex, meeting the taxis by early evening.
