FRIDAY
Our lunch stop en-route to the West Country will be at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, with its exotic plants from all over the world, walled garden and colonial-style teahouse.
DSATURDAY
We drive through the Blackdown Hills to Taunton, where there will be time for lunch. This afternoon we visit Coldharbour Mill, recognised by Historic England as one of the best-preserved textile mills in the country. We explore the working Victorian factory to discover how wool is turned into yarn and fabrics.
B, DSUNDAY
Enjoy a leisurely morning in Sidmouth. This afternoon we drive over Woodbury Common to Exmouth. Here we join Stuart Line for a cruise on the quiet and calm waters of the River Exe. The skipper will provide an informative commentary, and a Devon Cream Tea will be served as we enjoy the scenery and wildlife.
B, DMONDAY
Pecorama is one of Devon's top attractions and stands on a hillside overlooking the fishing village of Beer. Admire the model railway layouts and take a ride on the mile-long Beer Heights Miniature Railway. Our second stop of the day will be at pretty Burrow Farm Gardens, situated in idyllic countryside near Axminster.
B, DTUESDAY
Today is at leisure in Sidmouth. Visit the local Museum, explore the small independent shops and take a gentle stroll through the narrow streets and alleyways alongside the River Sid.
B, DWEDNESDAY
We travel home, calling to say hello to the residents of the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary. By the end of the afternoon, we reach the waiting taxis that will take you home to your door.
