This will be the first time Roadmark has offered a tour to the Baltic region of Germany. Our base is on the island of Rügen, known for its spectacular sandy beaches and white cliffs. We will also take a ferry across to the tiny island of Hiddensee, known as The Pearl of the Baltic, and visit the sunshine island of Usedom. To ensure that everyone has the best possible experience, we will have a local Guide during the days on Rügen.

Day 1 - Saturday
A taxi will collect you this afternoon and bring you to the coach to join your drivers and fellow travellers. We drive to the Essex port of Harwich and join the overnight ferry to Holland. Stena Line's Superferries provide a luxurious and relaxing crossing, and onboard facilities include restaurants, bars and a cinema. The holiday cost includes an inside cabin with private facilities.
Day 2 - Sunday
Arriving in the Hook of Holland at breakfast time, we set off to drive through Holland. Our lunchtime stop will be in Groningen, a small and attractive city in the north of the Netherlands. Later, we cross into Germany and drive to our overnight hotel in or close to Bremen where dinner and breakfast are included.D
Day 3 - Monday
The journey through Northern Germany is around 260 miles. We will pass close to Hamburg, Lubeck and Rostock before crossing the bridge onto Rügen, German's largest island. We will stay for five nights at the 4-star Parkhotel.B, D
Day 4 - Tuesday
After two days of travelling on the coach, our Tour Manager will take us on a short excursion to the seaside town of Sellin. Among the sights are the former "Warmbad" (historic bathhouse) and famous Seebrucke (Sellin pier). There are magnificent villas designed in the "Resort architecture" style that is typical of spas and resorts of the Baltic coast. We will return to the Hotel to relax before dinner.B, D
day 5 - Wednesday
Today we will explore Rügen. The KdF Seaside Resort in Prora was planned by Hitler in the 1930s and intended to provide affordable holidays for the average worker. Although never completed, nor used for its original purpose, the "Colossus of Rugen" still stands. We will visit the Museum to learn more about this incredible structure. Next we drive through the Jasmund National Park to visit the massive chalk cliffs of the Königsstuhl, towering above the Baltic Coast. Then we head to the seaside resort of Binz and take a nostalgic steam train ride on the narrow gauge "Rasender Roland" railway. A short guided walk will introduce us to this delightful little town, known as the "White Town", due to its lovely white painted houses, and we will have dinner at a local restaurant.B, D
Day 6 - Thursday
East of Rügen lies the little gem known as Hiddensee. We drive to Stralsund and take a ferry to the island, a traditional retreat for artists and writers. Upon arrival, horse drawn carriages will carry us through the idyllic landscape to the small, traffic-free and peaceful village of Kloster. Enjoy free time before a light lunch (included) in a traditional restaurant. Later we will return by ferry to Stralsund where the coach awaits to return to the Parkhotel.B, L, D
day 7 - Friday
Usedom is another popular holiday island in the Baltic, and is divided between Germany and Poland. We will visit Peenemunde where, during World War II, the V1 and V2 rockets were developed. In 1942 a V2 test rocket became the first man made object to travel into space. We will continue along the Island to Ahlbeck with its famous pier before heading back to Rügen.B, D
Day 8 - Saturday
We bid farewell to our Guide and depart Rügen. We retrace our steps along the autobahns to our overnight hotel on the Dutch/German border, with dinner and breakfast included.B, D
Day 9 - Sunday
After breakfast we continue our journey to the Hook of Holland and catch the afternoon sailing to Harwich. The ferry arrives mid-evening and we drive home to Sussex and meet the waiting taxis.B
