including a Welsh Banquet at Cardiff Castle
Enjoy an extended weekend break to the Welsh Capital of Cardiff. We have packed a lot in to this tour, the highlight of which will be a relaxed and entertaining evening in the historic surroundings of Cardiffs imposing Castle. We will swap dinner at our Hotel one night for a three-course medieval banquet prepared with Welsh produce. The evening also includes a short tour of the Castle Apartments, half a bottle of wine (or soft drinks) per person, and entertainment with a Master of Ceremonies, traditionally costumed entertainers and a harpist.

This morning we will take you to Castell Coch, a few miles to the north of Cardiff. With highly decorated interiors and rich furnishings, it is a dazzling masterpiece of the High Victorian era. This afternoon we visit the National Trust's Dyffryn Gardens. These Edwardian gardens are undergoing an ambitious revival project to restore them to their original splendour. Intimate 'rooms' include the Pompeiian Garden, Paved Court, Reflecting Pool and Mediterranean Garden. A grand Victorian mansion overlooks the Gardens - some unfurnished rooms are open to view.
