No trip to Holland in springtime would be complete without a visit to the spectacular Keukenhof Gardens. Our Hotel is in Breda in the south of Holland, which reduces the travelling time on the first and final days, and also enables us to explore the delightful cities of Gouda and Delft. Madurodam is a unique attraction where you can stroll through the flower-filled park and see every aspect of Holland in Miniature.
Please note that in the event of a suitable Eurotunnel crossing being unavailable, the Channel crossing will be by ferry

A taxi pick-up from home to join your drivers and fellow travellers on the coach. Complimentary tea/coffee will be served as we make our way to Folkestone for the short and convenient Eurotunnel* crossing. From Calais it is a journey of around 300km past Ghent and Antwerp to our hotel in Breda, an attractive city in the province of North Brabant. A welcome drink awaits our arrival before enjoying a three-course buffet dinner with tea/coffee included.
The Hotel provides a buffet breakfast with a good choice of hot and cold items. Today we will drive to the picturesque city of Gouda in Zuid-Holland. Some 60% of Dutch cheese is produced in the region surrounding Gouda, and it is also famous for its delicious stroopwafels. We will visit the Van den Berg Tearoom to enjoy tea or coffee and one of these tasty local delicacies. Van den Berg is a traditional bakery that has been baking waffles for over 100 years to a very secret recipe! We will then take a short walk to the Goudse Waag Cheese and Crafts Museum and taste 2 pieces of Gouda cheese in the museum shop. There will also be free time to explore some of Gouda's historic buildings, ancient canals and shopping streets.B, D
It is a journey of around an hour and a half to reach Keukenhof, so we will make an early start after breakfast. Keukenhof Gardens is one of the world's largest and best-known flower gardens, with over 7 million flower bulbs in bloom. There are 32 hectares of flowers and themed gardens to explore, and around 800 different varieties of tulips. Each year the Park has a specific theme, and the theme for 2020 is 'World of Colours'. You will have plenty of time to explore the flower shows, pavilions, terraces, art works and restaurants.
We will take a guided tour of Royal Delft, home of the famous blue earthenware. A short canal cruise will then take us into Delft for free time and lunch in one of the most beautiful city centres in the Netherlands. This afternoon we take a drive through The Hague to Madurodam. This charming miniature city opened in the 1950s and brings Holland to life through its canals, bulbfields, cheese markets, windmills and famous Dutch landmarks. The biggest model in Madurodam is of Schipol Airport, complete with control tower, runways and planes, and you will also see Holland's longest model railway.B, D
We leave Holland and drive back through Belgium to Bruges. Distinguished by its canals, cobbled streets and medieval buildings, this compact city makes the perfect place for our lunch stop. There will be time to take a sightseeing cruise (not included) and to visit the lace and chocolate shops to pick up some souvenirs of your visit. We will make our way back to Calais for the Channel crossing and meet the taxis during the early part of the evening.B
