London from Above and Below
This short break to the capital includes afternoon tea, an overnight stay, The View from The Shard, a cable car ride and a Thames cruise
SUNDAY
We drive to London where there will be time to explore St. Katharine Docks, central London’s only marina, just a short stroll from Tower Bridge, the Tower and HMS Belfast. Then check-in to the 4-star Tower Hotel, and head to the Vicinity Restaurant to enjoy a decadent Afternoon Tea. Finger sandwiches with classic fillings & scones with cream and jam followed by a selection of cakes plus a hot beverage. This evening we will take you to the Shard, Western Europe’s tallest building, for an exhilarating ride to the viewing gallery on floors 68-72.
MONDAY
After breakfast, the coach will take you to the O2. Climb aboard the Emirates Air Line for a return cable car ride high above the Thames. Enjoy unique views of the River, London’s skyline, the Greenwich Peninsula, Royal Docks and the O2. Then join one of the famous Thames Clippers for an hour-long journey through Central London, passing under all the famous bridges, to the newly re-developed Battersea Power Station. The iconic Power Station, built in the 1930s and which once supplied electricity to a fifth of London, has been brought back to life with two new tube stations, bars, shops, and restaurants. Time to find lunch and explore Circus West Village before heading for home.
