Explore the Cotswolds combined with a visit to the RHS Malvern Spring Show

Widely regarded as one of the finest gardening events of the year, the Malvern Spring Show is organised by the Royal Horticultural Society and provides an enjoyable and fascinating day out, with a patchwork of stunning show gardens, floral displays from the UK’s top nurseries, and plenty of blooming marvellous ideas and inspiration.

 

From our comfortable 4-star hotel  in Cheltenham we explore some of the Cotswold's prettiest villages and visit three magnificent gardens.

 

A full day is devoted to the Malvern Spring Show, set against a backdrop of the Malvern Hills.

 

Included in the price are visits to:

 

  • Batsford Arboretum

  • Hidcote Manor Garden

  • Snowshill Manor

  • Admission to the RHS Malvern Show

Thursday

A taxi will collect you from home and bring you to the Roadmark coach. We will drive through Oxfordshire to visit Batsford Arboretum near Moreton-in-Marsh. There are beautiful colours throughout the year, but especially in spring with marvellous blossoms from the cherries and magnolias. Later this afternoon we will continue through the Gloucestershire Cotswolds to our Hotel on the outskirts of Cheltenham.

Friday

After breakfast we will set off to Malvern where the RHS Spring Show is set against a backdrop of the Malvern Hills. Spend the day exploring the Show Gardens, Floral Marquee, food and craft tents. There are trade stands galore, from artisan crafts and gifts to plants, gardening equipment and clothing. The Show attracts leading nurseries from all over the UK and is a source of inspiration for anyone with an interest in gardening.

Saturday

Making our way through pretty Cotswolds Villages we reach Hidcote Manor. One of England's great Arts and Crafts gardens, Hidcote was created by the American horticulturalist Major Lawrence Johnson in 1907. It is famous for its rare shrubs and trees, outstanding herbaceous borders and unusual plants from all over the world. There is a National Trust shop and tearoom.

Sunday

This morning we will visit Snowshill Manor near Broadway. In the Manor House you will discover the amazing collections of Charles Wade (whose motto was 'let nothing perish'), from tiny toys to Samurai armour, and musical instruments to bicycles. The garden is filled with quiet courts, unspoilt views and curious features.
