RHS Garden Wisley

RHS Garden Wisley

A day at the RHS Garden at Wisley

Originally founded by businessman George Ferguson Wilson in 1878 and donated to the RHS in 1903, Wisley is a large and diverse garden covering 240 acres. In addition to numerous formal and informal decorative gardens, the cathedral-like glasshouse and an extensive arboretum, it includes small scale "model gardens" which are intended to show visitors what they can achieve in their own gardens, and a trials field where new cultivars are assessed. The new Hilltop building, opened in June 2021 is the centre of horticultural excellence and home to the Sky Terrace, offering unparalleled, panoramic views of the gardens.  There are numerous places to purchase refreshments or you may wish to bring a picnic to enjoy in the gardens.  We aim to give at least four and a half hours at Wisley.
