RHS Garden Wisley

RHS Garden Wisley

A day at the RHS Garden at Wisley

Originally founded by businessman George Ferguson Wilson in 1878, RHS Wisley is a large and diverse garden covering 240 acres. In addition to numerous formal and informal decorative gardens, several glasshouses and an extensive arboretum, it includes small scale "model gardens" which are intended to show visitors what they can achieve in their own gardens, and a trials field where new cultivars are assessed. The new Welcome Building was opened by Alan Titchmarsh in June 2019 and this houses a cafe and gift shop. A selection of hot and cold food is available throughout the gardens, although there may be some changes depending on any Covid-19 restrictions that may be in place.

We aim to give at least four and a half hours at Wisley.
